Mirror, Mirror and other Favs of 2008

Instead of taking down holiday decorations I decided to photograph some of my favorite things which found their way into my hot little hands. Some of them are gifts (thank you, Lauri for the wonderful trio of ironstone pitchers xo) and some of them are things I just COULDN"T LIVE WITHOUT!

This newest edition of French Style makes me cry...it is so beautiful.

And I love chippys bling!

I collect anything associated with the Eastern Star. Trash sent me the little box and hanky.

Of course Cow tags and cigarette holders are always a hit.

This fabulously chippy gilt chair was a find at Lakewood. Yes, that's needlepoint!

And all the little mirrors I found in Texas!

And the 8' mirror...will never leave my house. The other mirror with the curlicues is another gift from Dr. Phil. Lauri YOU ARE GOING TO DIE...it is too cute!

Well, thanks. I don't do a great job styling b/c I am in such a hurry. I have to take down the decorations before the New Year....don't want bad luck leaning on my doorstep!

We wish you a Merry Christmas.........

Its finally Christmas Eve and my house is finally decorated..........I'm so glad because everyone will arrive tomorrow and I would hate to still be decorating...............I wanted to post a few pictures for you. As most of you who know me know, I decorate 12 or 14 houses every year for Christmas. I have done it for years, same clients, and as I go through their things and each and everyone is different. I will say, Oh this year I'm going to do something different, I have always toyed with having an all white tree and white ornaments, because as you know I LOvvvvvveeeee white!!!!! But, every year when I open those boxes with those darling little Santas in there and see those faces smiling at me, I fall head over heels back in love with all my Santas.......... When we lived in Chamblee, Georgia, in the 80's I met a girl who had the most beautiful tree, and it was filled with Santas she had collected for years. Every year adding a few more, so that tradition stuck with me and my tree is pretty much all Santas, and bows of course.......So here are some pictures hope you like them and I would love to see all of your trees too!!!!! The following recipe is the ONLY eggnog I drink.  Once you taste a sample of this batch you'll understand why.

TWEETIE'S CAJUN EGGNOG

1 quart half 'n half

1 quart heavy whipping cream

8 eggs, separated into two bowls

1/2 cup sugar

1 cup rum (preferably golden)

1 cup brandy or apple jack

nutmeg, freshly ground or store bought

• In medium bowl, whip the egg whites until the whites are shiny. set aside.

In large bowl (I mean Texas-sized Large bowl) add the sugar to the egg yolks. Mix on medium speed until sugar is incorporated.

With mixer on low speed...S-L-O-W-L-Y add the liquor in a thin stream. (If you don't add it slowly you will COOK the eggs!)

Once all liquor is incorporated add whipping cream.  Add the half-n-half.  Once they are mixed gently fold the egg whites into the nog on low speed.  Sprinkle with nutmeg.

Keep cold.  If you still have some leftover the next day you need to practice for next year!  This will put a hitch in yer giddy up!
