Lakewood 400 in February

Hey y'all, Wow it has already been a great show at Lakewood 400. Thanks so much to everybody who came out today to see me. It was great! Lots of friends and lots of customers. I have been busy sewing as you can see.

How fabulous is this chair, it was an odd chair a friend wanted to sell so I added the stencil and a pleated skirt and wallah, cute chair, don't you think?

How great are these chairs, these babies came all the way from Texas, via Kentucky, my best bud Theresa, brought these back for me (cause I couldn't get em on the plane) and I just got them from her last weekend, so I slathered on the paint and grunge, just like my other buddy Sharon at Sweet Repose does, and added the burlap seat and I just love it. Yes, they are grey Sharon, (the secret gray that we don't speak about). I kinda hope they don't sell.......you know. If you are in the area, come on out and see me, I would love it! Cheers, lauri

I got a present!!!!!

My sweet friend Theresa gave me the nicest present when I saw her this weekend in Nashville. I was expecting her to bring me this cute little bowl, cause I saw in in her booth and asked her for it, but I was not expecting the rest..........

Look at all this cute little tea set stuff, dishes and cups and tureens, lids and bowls.....I just can't believe what a great gift. I love it, so cute in this little squaggy jar too. Ironstone it better than gold I think!!!!! I just love the way it looks in the jar.
And here is how it looks on a shelf in my china cabinet. Perfect! Thank you Theresa for such a great gift!!!! lauri

Tailgate Show, Nashville, Tennessee

OH MY GOSH!!!!! Y'all I had so much fun in Nashville, I not only got to see my buddy Theresa Smith and Craigy, but I could not believe my eyes when I saw who was set up across from her.......(as usual Theresa had some fabulous stuff)And I fell in love with this table........but I like to have died when there was the legendary Judy Hill herself, yes folks Texas was in Tennessee.......It was a dream to have these guys together in the frozen tundra........I couldn't believe it, kept pinching myself!!!!!! And as usual Judy had some fabulous stuff. Peg and Jon of French Vanilla were also there, but my camera battery was dead......darn it. Judy's booth .........

I just had to show you this other guy we saw at the show.......Billy Phillips, Phillips' General Store in Bell Buckle, Tennessee, mainly because of this little fellow........isn't he the cutest....... he was calling my name,
loved all this stuff, lots of chippy, crusty, rusty stuff......... I had so much fun, didn't want to come home. But, it won't be long till Texas now......Yeehaw, lauri

My Butter Pats, and Nashville, Tennessee

Hey y'all, I know I haven't mentioned butter pats in a while, but I am still very much in love with them. I have been going through all my things in the house and trying to de-cludder so I decided to put most of them in this big ole glass jar. I can't put them all in there, mainly because I don't want Q to start doing the math on how many I have and how I came to get them...........I just love the way they look all together and all the different sizes and shades of white......I know I am obsessed. I admit it. Anyway, I have been going through a lot of mothers things lately and realizing how I don't really need all this stuff. And trying to figure out how I got so much of it......I have been cleaning it all out and plan to haul it all to the show this month at Lakewood. (Good thing I have a truck). But, before that I am so excited, I am heading out tomorrow to the Tailgate Show in Nashville to see Theresa. Even though they are predicting ice and it never got above 34 here today I am still going. As long as I can make it to the interstate I am good. They rarely close the interstates, and anyways that's why I have a truck. I hope Theresa brings some of her butter pats so I can talk her out of them!!!! I will see you all when I get back. Cheers, lauri

Georgian Terrace Hotel

Today I went to a lunch for my Aunt Betty's Birthday. I love aunt Bettie she is the sweetest person I know. But, I had no idea what a treat it would be.......My friend Dottie has a knack for picking the best lunch places but, this one was a doozie........The Georgian Terrace Hotel is a gorgeous Atlanta Landmark, smack dab in the middle of downtown. It has just undergone 11 million dollars in renovations and it is 2die4 (in the words of Miss Trash). This alabaster staircase just took my breath away.......such a gorgeous site. So much beauty and history in this place, so glad they were able to save it. Everywhere you look it is just marble and more marble, beautiful capitals, and stone features all around. I couldn't stop drooling and just had to show y'all.

Lots of magnificent lighting is all over this place.

And the best part, it is right across the street from another Midtown Icon, The Fox Theater. So glad they saved this place too.......

A view from the upstairs........

And here I am with my sweet Aunt Bettie (in the pink), Dottie and her mom Sara. I love these guys. Hope you enjoyed it. Cheers, lauri
