I'd Rather be in Paris Swap

WOW, We are so lucky to have been included in a swap that Sweet Shelley at Sweet Pea Home was hosting. Lulu and I both got some really great stuff. I was so fortunate to get Shelley in the swap and look at all the great stuff I got. The very best part was that Shelley has some butter pat seeds and sent me a pot with a newly sprouted butter pat. How good is that!!!???

How wonderful is this old box with the french print on front, it has a mirror inside and will be my new jewelry box. It was holding some really cool french papers, and pictures as well as some ribbons, flowers and a rhinestone chain. Lulu will die when she sees it. There was also some french soap, that is it all wrapped in a pretty bow. Shelley knows me pretty good to know I love bows.
Here's a shot of all the goods. Some really cool stuff.........

And because she knows I love them.......yet another butter pat. These will be my favorites.......Thank you Shelley, I love everything and you were so sweet for hosting this. Cheers, Lauri

Thelma, Louise, or Maxine????

Well, I wanted to let you all know that my mother is doing sooooooo much better. I have hesitated about saying anything lately, afraid I would jinx her, but she is showing some great improvement.........I am just not sure who she is these days. My brothers both visited with her this week and called me to say that on Monday she was a little snippy with one of them and asked for her car, then she instructed my sister-in-law to go out to her car and get her cigarettes!!!!!(she doesn't smoke.) Then yesterday when she was in therapy she walked to the end of the parallel bars and then said she wanted to keep on walking so they walked her up and down the hall for awhile. We can't believe it last week she was not walking or eating. Then today when I got there, her nurse met me in the hall and said that she had eaten all of her breakfast and most of her lunch. WOW!!!! This is such good news.....then she said SHE had fired most of the staff........bummer. Well, I knew when I walked in and she was behind the nurses station sitting at the desk looking at papers, we were in trouble. So I am not sure who we are dealing with here but, I am just so grateful she is alive and doing well in rehab. I just hope they don't call me and tell me she can't stay anymore. And I have decided if she starts drinking I'll load her up in the car and take her to Texas with us!!!!......Cheers, Lauri

Stick a fork in us........we're done!!!!!!!

Not even the grim reaper was at Lakewood 400 this weekend. This is me, dressed for the occasion. I wanted this odd fellows garb that our friend James was selling, isn't it to die for???? Eat your heart out Sharon, I know you are jonesing for it too. I couldn't sell enough to get the funds to buy it. Darn!!!!! We have tried for the last year to try to breath some life into this show and keep it going. But, I think we are calling it quits, we just are going to try to find something else. Just making rent ain't gittin' it.

I didn't take any pictures except of the jewels. Obviously, my displays just ain't doing it anymore at Lakewood. Oh well, I'm off on a hunt for a store, or another show to wet my appetite. Cheers, Lauri

lulu Has Movement!

AAAAHHHH! I am finally back to 'normal'. Whew! Thanks for the supportive words last week. I am back to my old self. Maybe it's also because my cohort is back (yay). The Scott's Show was veddy veddy gud.

I DID get my corner office and it ROCKS!!!! Thanks for all who stopped by, bought and just were darling. I want to send a big shout out to Terry & Jerry who came all the way from Alabamy just to see me (no, not really but I can dream...). Terry was so adorable. She had a tiny slip of paper with my name and booth number! COME BACK NEXT MONTH and SHOP!

Speaking of SHOPPING.....WE ARE BOTH GOING TO BE AT LAKEWOOD THIS WEEKEND! Yay. Hall B, 86-88. Just listen for the laughter. We are NOT decorating just putting it out there. So, please come out and bring your dough-re-mi as we have BARGAINS galore!
I will post pics from Scott's as soon as I figure out how to get them from my phone to my computer!

He likes Tattoos........

Surprise.......Hey its me!!!!!!!!! First of all thank you all so much for all your emails, calls and prayers for my mother. I finally have her settled in a wonderful rehabilitation facility in Gainesville, Georgia, where I feel she is getting the best care and therapy she can possibly receive. This is going to be a long process but, I just need to stay positive and work through this. I believe that God never puts more on us than we can handle and I can handle this......I also feel that the best way for me to get through this is to put some normalness into my life, like blogging.........

As for the photo, that is my angel boy who has had another birthday, last week. And yes he likes tattoos. Me, not so much......but, at least they are gun logos and not nekkid women. So I can at least look at them.

I have to thank my cohort, Lulu, for taking over for me in my absence, but there are a few issues I need to address, first off I appreciate Trash for giving the how to's on landing a Cat Daddy, but, I still want the REAL ONE, so would you will him to me???? And I am still not over not winning him in the give away, but money does talk............... And for the two vigilante Theresa's, out on a Texas road trip. I don't know how I will ever get over that one, I am so jealous, I am green!!!!!!
I will see you in the fall, wedding or no wedding.

And speaking of Wedding, my sweet daughter-in-law-to-be, took me to look a dresses this passed weekend, and I found some!!! I mean after all I can't be expected to choose just one, so I chose three let me know which one you like. Now they didn't have my size and they have to be ordered, and the last one will be terra cotta colored and not pink, but, I like them all. Now I just have to do about a million sit ups and some arm work to get in them. Thank you all again for helping me keep my sanity and if you ever need me I am here for you..........Lauri, appreciating you and loving life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY WASHER RUNNETH OVER...

Okay it really isn't running over LITERALLY. Although I have been playing hooky at a friend's lake house since Thursday so we're a little behind here at the wildworldof2chippys.
FIRSTLY>>>>>>>Lauri's mom WOKE UP FRIDAY! Lauri was facing putting her into rehab and came to the hospital to finalize things. And what do you know...sitting up in bed, watching TV was Ms. Norma Jean!! But, she has relapsed and is not responsive. These injuries are very tricky. I am thankful she had time to visit with her mom. It made her so HAPPY! Me too! Thanks to all for your wonderful words of encouragement and prayers. They most certainly helped and were answered! Keep them coming. I will post updates as I get details.

Now, onto Blog Bid'ness:
Shelley of Sweet Pea tagged me sometime in the last 8 days (I DO APOLOGIZE for being so tardy). Here are 10 nuggetts you'll want to remember for Trivia Night at your local watering hole.

1. I was driven around the Indianapolis 500 race track when I was 2. I didn't win that year. But my namesake, AJ FOYT, might have won. Which brings me to the second pearl...

2. I was nicknamed AJ immediately upon birth. You see my papa wanted a boy...no such luck! Third girl and they named me Andrea Jayne Zinn......hence AJ.

3. I have lived in 5 different states in my lifetime. I attended 3 different elementary schools, and 2 different high schools.

4. I was in a rock n' roll band BRIEFLY sometime last century.
5. I would eat pasta and or macaroni and cheese every day if I could without repercussions.
6. I was my high school's mascot/cheerleader my senior year: The Red Devil.

7. I was briefly married (see rock n' roll band #4) before I found my Phil (A keeper).
8. I must have been a crow in a former life b/c I love mirrors, crystal drops and mirrored surfaces.
9. I can touch my nose with the tip of my tongue.
10. I have never seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

gag. Am I a barrel of fun or what?
I have more updating but I really must attend to my laundry and lint collections! xo lulu
