The Illusive butter pat.........

I know that you have all been missing me talking about butter pats for a while, believe me I am still in love with them, and I think of them everyday, but today I decided to show you some pictures of some of the stamps on them. How beautiful are the little English stamps they put, on these things. So simple and sweet, I just love them. I think I will turn some of them I have hanging, around and just look at the stamps for a while. I know that every time I go to the Texas shows I am always so taken with Janet Romines' (Rubbish and Co.) displays of her ironstone as she always has the ironstone turned so you cans see the beautiful stamps. Now if you have some wonderful stamps on some ironstone or butter pats, let me see them, I just love to look at them, or better yet, send those to me and let me inspect them for you and make sure they are original.........Cheers, Lauri

I love the backs of all old dishes especially if they are just a tad crazed and browned. You know what I mean. I even like the backside of another dish...you!

That's two, two, two comments in one. I adore your new blog background. Lovely! I am also crazy about butter pats and egg coddlers as well. My favorite butter pat that I own is from USMA (West Point Military Acadamy). No longer used at the dining facility, our country's future leaders utilized these at their daily mess. Who knows if a Patton, Eisenhower, or Schwartzkopf took butter from this pat...all I know is I love it. Sea Witch
