Marburger Farms Texas.........

Gaaaa...gaaaa.......that is about all I can say about the beauty displayed this time at Marburger Farms..... Once again I was a lucky duck and got to stay with my best bud Theresa Smith right at the show. How fun is that????? I must be living right....... Of course by the time I got there she had everything looking amazing all the displays were set and there was even a bed. I just wanted to make my bed right there......and stay in the booth. But, Craig said I couldn't...... So I got to stay with him and TOT in the travel trailer, course he was telling everyone he was sleeping with two women the whole time..........Craig, craig, craig what are we going to do with you....... like anyone could sleep.......I mean come on it is heaven when the shows are going on in Round Top, Texas...... you can't sleep...... Well, unless you have too much Tequila, but that is another story.....one I hope they won't share........Anyway here is TOT's masterpiece.....she had out done herself again........ and don't go asking her for any of it cause it is GONE!!!!!!!

This was a wonderful old metal locker with removable shelves it was one of the first things to go, how beautiful it was filled with ironstone.........amazing.......

Here's my bed, I mean the bed........The next pictures are can you guess???? French Vanilla, Peg and John, they always have that great French flare....... love it....

Peg had these wonderful stain glass stencils on the wall and they were fabulous............And for the next trick, cause you know I ain't gonna forget Miss Totally Amazing Judy Hill...... She really had it going on this time......everything was Over the Top!!!!!!!

I was fortunate enough to get to make my semi-annual trip to heaven again this fall. Texas is truly my favorite place to be and if I have my way some day I will be there with all the wonderful friends I have made. I have to tell you I had so much fun this time, I just don't remember when I have laughed so much or had such a great time in my life........ I really needed this trip to recharge my batteries before the Wedding of the Year. These are my best peeps, Me, Lisa, Shelly, TOT, and Miss T at the Leftover Party.......

Here I am at the Blog Party in Warrenton, with my best bud, Janet of Rubbish and Sweet Talk. No she is not holding a mug shot number, just a sign she had bought and she wanted to show it off....... love you Janet. The blog party was amazing, there were about 60 people there or at least it looked that way, what I could see of it....... It was a blast!!!!! And here I am with that hunka hunka, he's mine you know........ And the most amazing thing that happened was I met Ms Polly of Porch Magazine, French Cupboard, and Counting your Blessings...... She is beautiful and just the sweetest thing you ever want to meet. I just love her and her darling husband Steve. More pictures later, Cheers, Lauri

I am caught in a whirlwind.............

I'm on a roller coaster ride and I can't get off, I knew it was coming but, I didn't know it would be like this........ Mother was admitted to the Hospital last Saturday, just as we were getting ready for the Couples Shower for Adam and Katie. She has aspiration pneumonia (what is that??) and a serious UTI...... Bless her heart she just can't catch a break. I have been at the hospital all week. And feverishly trying to find a nurse to care for her in her home. Just can't do this rehab facility thing anymore. I am convinced if you stay there long enough they will kill you!!!!!!!!!!

I have been stuffing and assembling the invitations getting them ready to mail next week........ My dresses are here and I need to go for a fitting........Mainly to see if I like them now that they are here and not size 8 or if I need to head to the fabric store to construct a tent....... I have had mothers car for sale and finally sold it Thursday, and my son has bought a house....... Oh dear, that means window treatments, rugs, furniture, oh and we have to paint. Does anyone know how to clone yourself???? Cause I need to be in about 8 places at one time........ I don't think I have enough Tequila for this........ Oh, and did I mention it is almost time for TEXAS, yes as if I don't have anything else to do, I think I'm jumping on a plane for the Round Top Shows in about .......oh, 20 days...........Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The love of my life..........Jeremiah Adam Evans

Well, you all had to know this was coming............. yes, I know it is less than 2 months now, mainly because the tears are coming more frequently. I can hardly make eye contact with him these days cause there is just something so special between a mother and her son. I have to tell you I was truly blessed when God gave this little bundle of joy to me. And I thank God every day for the relationship I have with him. All of you with boys know about that special bond you seem to have with a son. He has truly been the love of my life and I can remember when he was born I was so expecting a girl. (this was back when we didn't find out what the babies were......) I thought what will I ever do with a boy!?!? Well, as you might know God knew just what I needed and I have been blessed ever since. Between huntin' and fishin' and football and now big dangerous machinery, I can tell you I have enjoyed every minute of it. And I know that it is not over, just changing for me. And I will embrace it as best I can. He will always be my little angel boy. Thanks for letting me share................Lauri

One more thing to love about Kentucky.......

Well, gettin' to see Theresa was the highlight of my trip but, she lives just a rocks throw from the distillery, who knew???? And there are tobacco fields across the road........... you just gotta love the south, whiskey and cigarettes, one of lifes staples....... Notice the similarities.....................

And as if that was not good enough you got to drive right through Lynchburg to get to Kentucky. I love this place, I might buy a house there.............. lucky for me Theresa likes to pull a cork too......

The Longest Yardsale, Me and TOT......

I still can't decided what the best part of my trip was, gettin' to go junkin' with TOT, or gettin' to STAY at the 'Country Living' house in Kentucky.......hmmmmm, I think they both were priceless....... And the very best part is I figured out that TOT is just 5 hours away from me. Good for me, maybe not so good for her, cause I might just have to go once a month. Let me just give you an idea of what it is like to stay with her, you feel like a QUEEN!!!! I'm not kidding. She insisted on me staying in her bedroom which is like a suite. I just stayed up all night looking at everything and taking pictures. I wanted her to put prices on stuff so I could buy it all. I did talk her out of some of her Magnolia Pearl, it just took a little arm twisting......I'll show you that later. Here are some photos of her FAB-U-LOUS home and all the stuff I want. It is all meticulously decorated........with the most wonderful one of a kind pieces.

How wonderful are these clock faces that she just strung through a ribbon and hung on a nail....who would have thought of this but Theresa......She is the master........ Then as if staying here was not enough of a prize, off we go on the Longest Yardsale. For those of you who are not familiar, this is a stretch of highway that runs from Covington, Kentucky to Gadsden, Alabama, 450 miles of junk...... What could be better, and trust me I have gone every year since it started and the best stuff is in Kentucky!!!! And this year was good as ever, we scored some amazing stuff, butter pats, ironstone, dress forms, metal cabinets, suitcases, doll heads you name it. And little did I know I was taking 'hawkeye' with me' that could spot a clock or a butter pat from 200 yards.....so it was even better........
